US Congressman Ro Khanna Urges 'Humane' Treatment During Deportations

Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the U.S., trade, defence, energy, and immigration are expected to be key discussion points between Modi and President Donald Trump. During Modi's visit, which is scheduled for February 12-13, 2025, he is expected to meet with Trump on February 13.
Ahead of the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump, US Congressman Ro Khanna said that he is sure immigration will be discussed.
Khanna stressed the importance of humane treatment during deportation processes, stating that those being deported should be treated with appropriate dignity and not be harassed or treated in inhumane conditions. He added that people coming to the United States need to follow the law and come legally.
Illegal immigration is expected to be a significant area of discussion. The U.S. recently sent 104 illegal Indian immigrants back to India, with similar actions expected against nearly 600 others on the U.S.'s final removal list. In an interview with ANI, US Congressman Ro Khanna stressed the importance of "humane treatment" during deportation processes.
