US Congressman Ro Khanna has emphasised the bipartisan nature of the US-India relationship, highlighting the regional challenges both countries face due to China's expansionist policies. Khanna made these remarks in an interview with ANI, noting that the US-India relationship transcends individual presidents and depends on a mutual commitment.

Khanna underscored the potential for collaboration between the US and India in scientific research and renewable energy, facilitated by the "India caucus". He expressed hope that the existing work to deepen military cooperation, initiated during President Biden's term, would continue.

According to Khanna, both the United States and India recognize the challenges posed by China's regional expansion, specifically mentioning Arunachal Pradesh and the Taiwan Strait. He also called for "humane treatment" during deportations and a balanced US-India trade relationship. Khanna stated that deportations should be conducted with appropriate dignity, and those entering the United States must follow legal procedures. He also noted the importance of India committing to purchasing as much from the United States as the US buys from them in order to strengthen the relationship and avoid trade deficits.

Furthermore, Ro Khanna and Republican lawmaker Rich McCormick will co-chair the India Caucus in the US House of Representatives. The India Caucus has a record number of 145 members in the 118th Congress.
