Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis recently reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing the India-Greece Strategic Partnership during a telephone conversation on November 2, 2024. This dialogue follows Mitsotakis's earlier visit to India and highlights the growing momentum in bilateral relations, particularly in areas such as trade, defence, shipping, and connectivity.

Both leaders expressed a strong desire to deepen collaboration in various sectors, emphasizing that Greece is a valued partner for India within the European Union. Modi stated, “Together, we aim to deepen our collaboration across trade, defence, shipping and connectivity”.

The discussion included a review of recent progress in bilateral ties following high-level exchanges. They noted advancements in initiatives aimed at enhancing maritime connectivity and cooperation through the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEEC).

The leaders reiterated their goal of doubling bilateral trade by 2030, a commitment made during Mitsotakis's visit to India earlier this year. This objective aligns with ongoing efforts to strengthen economic ties between the two nations.

The conversation also covered various regional and global issues of mutual interest, including developments in West Asia and the importance of multilateralism.
