The lieutenant governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi at New Delhi on Tuesday

“Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” the Prime Minister’s office (PMO) posted on micro-blogging platform “X”, formerly known as Twitter.

Sinha also took to “X” and informed about his meeting with the Prime Minister

“Met Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji today and wished him a blissful Vijayadashmi. Presented ‘Kong Posh’ (saffron flower) to Hon’ble PM on behalf of people of J&K UT,” he said in the post.

A photograph on the platform showed lieutenant governor presenting a Kashmiri paper machie bowl of saffron flowers to the Prime Minister.

“During the meeting, lieutenant governor briefed the PM about the overall security scenario and various initiatives of his administration for the inclusive development of all the communities in Jammu and Kashmir,” said a source privy to the meeting.

On Monday, Sinha, while asserting that the situation has largely improved in J&K and terrorism was taking its last breath, announced to provide land at subsidised rate to Kashmiri Pandit government employees in Srinagar to build their own houses.

“The L-G also briefed the PM on stray incidents of terror activities in the region and situation on the borders,” the source added.
