Drugs Thrown Into Sea By Pakistan Boat Crew Recovered From Gujarat's Jakhau
Pakistani boat 'Al Noman' apprehended on May 30/31 night
The Border Security Force (BSF) and Marine Police, in a joint operation on Sunday, June 5, recovered over 50 kg of drugs in Gujarat’s Jakhau region.
The two bags full of drugs were thrown into the sea by the Pakistani boat AL Noman last week when it was apprehended by the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS). Based on specific intelligence input, the BSF and Marine Police recovered the same.
The Indian Coast Guard, on the basis of intelligence input by Gujarat ATS, had jointly apprehended the Pakistani boat with seven crew on the intervening nights of May 30 and 31. The boat was carrying a consignment of contraband. The drugs were thrown into the sea by the crew.
Later, the BSF received information about some suspicious bags floating near a creek in Kutch. The BSF then launched a search operation along with marine police and recovered over 50 kg of drugs.
