The Border Security Force (BSF) thwarted an infiltration bid by a drone along the India-Pakistan border in Punjab's Gurdaspur on Sunday night.
The drone was flown from the Pakistan side of the Kasowal border outpost in Gurdaspur sector. Alert BSF personnel spotted the drone and shot at it, firing 5 rounds. After this, the drone returned to the Pakistan side of the border.
A search operation is underway in the area.
Meanwhile, a Pakistani youth was apprehended for trespassing in the Dera Baba Nanak area near the international border in Punjab. The BSF recovered a mobile phone and Pakistani currency from the youth.
Earlier, security forces had shot down a drone along the India-Pakistan border in Punjab’s Ferozepur last Friday night. Believed to have originated in Pakistan, the hexa-copter was not carrying any payload like drugs, arms or ammunition.
