INS Vikrant under construction at Cochin Shipyard in Kochi

The Cochin Shipyard received an anonymous email on Monday threatening to bomb vital Indian Navy installations. The INS Vikrant, India’s first indigenous aircraft carrier, is stationed at the Cochin Shipyard.

Kochi Police have registered a case in the matter. An investigation is underway.

INS Vikrant, designed by the Indian Navy's Directorate of Naval Design (DND), was built at Cochin Shipyard Limited, a public sector shipyard under the Ministry of Shipping. The aircraft carrier recently completed its maiden sea voyage and is in the process of undergoing a series of sea trials.
