Mufti At Loggerheads With Centre Over ED Probe, Passport Row
During these past few weeks, Mufti has been at loggerheads with the Centre over summons by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Last month, it was revealed that Mufti’s party was pumping money into the Hurriyat Conference for keeping secessionist activities alive in the Valley. The disclosure was made by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) while probing the case related to suspended Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Davinder Singh and Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Naveed Babu.
The NIA in its chargesheet claimed that PDP youth wing chief Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra gave Rs 5 crore to Altaf Ahmed Shah aka Altaf Fantoosh, separatist leader of All Party Hurriyat Conference (APHC) who was chargesheeted in NIA’s terror-funding case, to keep the situation in the Kashmir Valley volatile after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani.
