Showcasing different equipment used by the defence forces, the India International Security Expo opened at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on October 3. The expo is being hosted by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with ITPO and will be on till October 5. This year’s show is in its 22nd edition, and brings together traffic management, fire safety, disaster management, industrial safety and information security professionals from across the private and public sector. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was among the visitors to the show.


A mannequin attired in hi-tech gear meant for soldiers is seen during the expo. Rajnath Singh also noted that there is no other effective interface between the industry and the government other than such events and expos.

It ensures reliable communication under adverse conditions.

In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Make in India’, this year’s edition of the expo aims to create a powerful road map leading to Indian defence becoming self-reliant.


Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visits a stall at the expo. Speaking at the show, Singh said India cannot remain dependent on imported weapons for long and that it did not align with the country’s plans to become a superpower.
