Gen Bipin Rawat On Pakistan-Backed Terror
"There is a communication breakdown between terrorists in the Kashmir Valley and their handlers in Pakistan but there is no communication breakdown between people to people... Gen Bipin Rawat On 'Misinterpretation of Religion'
Army chief General Bipin Rawat on Monday during a media said that Islam was being misinterpreted by people which is leading to the radicalisation of the people. He said that it was important that we have preachers who convey the right meaning of Islam to the people.
"I feel the interpretation of Islam by some elements who possibly want to create disruption is what is being fed to a large number of people. It is not that the religion is bad, but the manner in which it is being misinterpreted for whatever reason is what is affecting the people who listen to such messages, people who get carried away and swayed by the messages. I think it is important that we have preachers who convey the correct meaning of Islam by whatever way or form by those who wanted Islam to be preached in a proper manner," he said.
