Pakistan Unlikely To Invite PM Modi To Joint Inauguration of Kartarpur Corridor: Sources
According to sources, Pakistan is unlikely to invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the joint inauguration of Kartarpur Corridor on November 9 this year
Islamabad: After being exposed globally, Pakistan is unlikely to invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the joint inauguration of Kartarpur Corridor. It is being reported that Pakistan is mulling over snubbing PM Modi to show its protest over the Kashmir issue.
The latest report has come just ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistan PM Imran Khan's UN General Assembly (UNGA) address in New York, where both the leaders are expected to face each other.
Last month, Pakistan downgraded diplomatic ties with India after the Central government decided to abrogate Article 370 which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan has been vehemently demanding the restoration of Kashmir's special status while India has been maintaining that Kashmir is its internal matter.
Pakistan PM Imran Khan, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and a host of top officials have repeatedly flagged the Kashmir issue at various international forums, but to no avail. During his UNGA address, Imran Khan is once again expected to rake up the Kashmir issue.
