New Delhi: After Pakistan’s humiliating ouster from the World Cup, ex-Army veteran and BJP member Major Surendra Poonia trolled Director General ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor said that the DG can collect Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman’s teacup which he left in his office.
“Kindly collect it and celebrate,” Major Poonia tweeted. The retired army veteran was referring to the controversial TV advertisement which mocked the captivity of the IAF pilot in Pakistan.
Replying to Major Poonia’s tweet, Ghafoor said that Pakistan doesn’t “equate sports with other things especially issues and conflicts.”

“We Pakistanis are truly large at heart, ask Abhinandan. But you can’t understand this as it req moral values, a lacking displayed vs Eng,” he tweeted referring to India’s loss against England in the WC match.
Responding to Ghafoor’s tweet Major Poonia fired back saying that Pakistan’s “large heart” was evident during the Kargil War when their Army refused to take back the dead bodies of their soldiers.
We gave an honourable funeral to your soldiers which every soldier deserves, said the army veteran adding that wars cannot be bigger than the honour of a solider.
After the end of the war, Pakistan refused to claim the bodies of their soldiers saying that men who had captured mountaintop positions on the Indian side during the war were not Pakistan Army soldiers but mujaheddin.
Many Pakistani journalists and former cricketers had questioned India’s loss against England on June 30 and appealed to the International Cricket Council (ICC) to look into the matter hinting that the Indian side deliberately lost the match to keep Pakistan out of the World Cup.
Pakistan was out of the World Cup after defeating Bangladesh as the points required to enter the semifinal was beyond their reach.

After the video went viral, twitter users shared the video on their timeline with creative replies.
India has reached the semifinal of the World Cup campaign and is all set to win today’s match against Sri Lanka as well.
