In Kulbhushan Jadhav’s case, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on Wednesday ordered Pakistan to “effectively review and reconsider” the death sentence awarded to the Indian national as it breached the Vienna convention.

‘At Last Justice Has Prevailed,’ Tweets Priyanka Gandhi Vadra
Congress’ Priyanka Gandhi Vadra took to Twitter as she welcomed the verdict in Kulbhushan Jadhav’s case by ICJ (International Court of Justice).
“Heartened by the #KulbhushanVerdict. At last justice has prevailed. All of India joins his family in their joy!” Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wrote on Twitter.
Expect Pakistan To Implement Directive Immediately: MEA
“We expect Pakistan to implement directive immediately. This judgement validates India’s position on the case. We’ll continue to work vigorously for Jadhav’s early release & return to India,” Raveesh Kumar further told ANI in the matter of ICJ’s verdict in Kulbhushan Jadhav’s case.
Raveesh Kumar of Ministry of External Affairs further said that India appreciates International Court of Justice’s direction to Pakistan that it is under obligation to inform Kulbhushan Jadhav of his rights.
“We appreciate direction by ICJ that Pakistan should review & reconsider conviction & sentence given to Jadhav by Pakistani military court. We note that the Court has directed that Pakistan is under an obligation to inform Jadhav without further delay of his rights to provide Indian consular officers access to him in accordance with Vienna Convention,” Raveesh Kumar told ANI.
Delighted By Expected Positive ICJ Verdict In Kulbhushan Jadhav Case: Tharoor
Congress leader Shashi Tharoor took to his Twitter account to applaud the verdict given by the International Court of Justice, also know as the world court, in Kulbhushan Jadhav’s case.
He said he hopes for Jadhav’s early release.
“Delighted by the expected positive ICJ verdict in the #KulbhushanJadhav case finding that Pakistan had erred in not providing consular access. Only one of the 16-member panel of judges had a dissenting opinion in the #KulbhushanVerdict&that was the Pak judge. Hope4early release,” Shashi Tharoor wrote on Twitter.
The world court found by 15 votes to 1 that Pak breached Jadhav’s rights
The International Court of Justice found by 15 votes to 1 that Pakistan breached Kulbhushan Jadhav’s rights under Vienna convention on consular relations by not letting Indian diplomats to visit him in prison.
