Army Chief To Visit Forward Areas
Shimla: Chief of the Army Staff General Bipin Rawat today arrived at Shimla on a three-day official tour. General Rawat will visit the forward areas to have a firsthand view of the security situation as well as the preparedness of the troops deployed.
He would also take stock of the institutionalised training being undertaken in the 32 category ‘A’ establishments in the Indian Army.
He will be briefed on the new initiatives being initiated by Headquarters ARTRAC in keeping with technological developments in the environment.
Besides meeting top officials of the state, the Army Chief would call on the Governor. He is accompanied by his wife Madhulika Rawat, who is the president of the Army Wives Welfare Association.
On arrival at Annandale, the Army Chief was received by Lieutenant General GS Sangha, Chief of Staff, Army Training Command. The Chief of the Army Staff will also interact with some veterans and their families located in Shimla.
