Congress Party Equates PM Modi With North Korea’s Kim Jong Un
Congress leader and spokesperson Anand Sharma
SHIMLA: Launching an attack against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his remarks on deployment of missiles and use of nuclear weapons, senior Congress leader and former minister Anand Sharma said it seems the PM is equating himself with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
Addressing mediapersons in Shimla on Tuesday, Sharma said no leader of nuclear power nations talks like this. It is unfortunate for the biggest democracy of world if its Prime Minister compares himself with Kim Jong, he added.
Referring to the new slogan ‘Damdar Pradhan Mantri’ of the BJP, he said in democracy, Prime Minister becomes Damdar (Strong) only though mental ability and vision and not with the size of body.
Objecting to calling Indian Army as ‘Modi ki sena’, he said it is insult to the Army which fights only under the Tricolour.
He said the BJP is spending huge amount on advertisement and a report in December last year said BJP had spent Rs 4,397 crore on advertisement. He said the Prime Minister should reveal the source of this money. He said 90% of chartered planes and helicopters have already been booked by the BJP for election campaign.
He said the Prime Minister considers Congress leaders as his personal enemy. He said official machinery and investigating agencies are being misused against the opposition leaders and governments.
He said during 2014 parliamentary election, several promises were made with the people and now the Prime Minister should discuss how much he has delivered on these promises.
He said it was promised that two crore jobs would be created per year which means that 10 crore jobs were to be created in the last five years, but nothing happened on this front. He said farmers were promised to give 1.5 times minimum support price, but this never came.
He said the economy suffered because of demonetisation, resulting in job loss for millions. He said the flawed GST model, which was claimed to be “one nation-one tax” has turned out to be “one nation-five taxes”.
He said four engines of economy — investment, manufacturing, exports and capital formation — were badly hit during the past five years due to wrong policies of BJP government at the Centre.
