India Interested In Training Its Military In Russia
The Military Academy of the General Staff is the chief higher education institution in Russia, a leading centre of scientific research in defence and national security
MOSCOW: India is interested in training its military at the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, the Russian Defence Ministry informed on Thursday on the outcomes of the visit by India’s Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Sunil Lanba.
"During his visit to Russia, Admiral Sunil Lanba has delivered a lecture for the students of the General Staff’s Military Academy on the role of the Indian Navy in the maintenance of peace and stability in South Asia. During the meeting with the academy’s leadership, the Indian military commander commended the level of training of the academy’s graduates, expressing the interest of the Indian side in training its military personnel within a special faculty of the academy," the Russian Defence Ministry stated.
The Military Academy of the General Staff is the chief higher education institution in Russia, a leading centre of scientific research in defence and national security. The academy offers training and refresher courses for senior and supreme officers, representatives of Russian ministries and agencies, as well as servicemen of foreign armed forces.
