Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman here on Friday alleged that questions posed by Congress President Rahul Gandhi make it appear as if he either deliberately wishes to not comprehend the Rafale issue or does not possess the capacity to understand the matter.

“The Centre is providing the Congress detailed responses to every query vis-a-vis the fighter aircraft. Prior to asking Rafale-related questions, Gandhi should properly understand the defence purchase procedure from former Defence Minister AK Antony.

The Congress President is unable to fathom the difference between basic price and the cost of the plane equipped with weapons,” the visiting politician told media persons here.

The Government is replying to Parliament and the judiciary, she averred and expressed surprise over the Congress raising the Rafale issue amid the Madhya Pradesh polls.
