India, Brazil & South Africa Navies Train To Build Interoperability
INS Tarkash Stealth Guided Missile Frigate
New Delhi: Aiming to build interoperability, mutual understanding and share of best practices, the navies of India, Brazil and the South Africa are participating in a joint Multi – National Maritime Exercise “IBSAMAR”, started on Monday at Simons Town in South Africa.
This is the sixth edition of IBSAMAR.
It will conclude on October 13.
The last edition was conducted off Goa from February 19 – 26, 2016.
The Indian Navy is represented by Stealth Guided Missile Frigate Tarkash, Guided Missile Destroyer Kolkata, Long Range Maritime Patrol Aircraft P8I, Seaking and Chetak helicopters as well as a MARCOS contingent, officials said.
