Refit of Ships, Submarines Reviewed By Navy
Visakhapatnam: Indian Navy’s Mid Year Refit Review (MYRR) and Mid Year Infrastructure Review (MYIR) Conference was inaugurated at Headquarters, Eastern Naval Command (ENC) here on Tuesday.
The two day conference held at Swarna Jyoti Conference Hall was chaired by Vice Admiral GS Pabby, Chief of Materiel, Integrated Headquarters Ministry of Defence (Navy). MYRR reviews the progress of refits of ships and submarines of ENC and Andaman & Nicobar Command (ANC), the Tri-Services Command at Port Blair. The conference was attended by all the stake-holders representing the Naval Headquarters, Dockyards, Repair Yards and Material Organisations of ENC and ANC.

Delivering the keynote address during the inaugural session, Vice Admiral GS Pabby complimented performance of all stakeholders in refitting the ships and submarines. He lauded the progress made on all the technological aspects of Machinery, Hull, Weapon & Sensors and emphasised on the continual improvements in synergising the refitting and logistic functions for timely completion of refits for ensuring combat ready platforms.
Mid Year Infrastructure Review meeting will be held on 12 Sep to review the progress of various infrastructure projects on the Eastern Seaboard and in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
