Indian Army Ammunition Won’t Even Last For 10 Days In 2 Front War, Claims Cong Leader
Rajya Sabha MP and former Punjab Congress chief Partap Singh Bajwa on Sunday alleged that BJP led NDA government is fiddling with defence of country and squandering ‘national interests’ for monetary gains.”
Bajwa, who was in the winter capital to launch the party campaign to expose Rafale deal involving alleged scam of the BJP government, said, “India is surrounded by a hostile neighbour like China and Pakistan and no compromise could be made on national security.”
Citing report of Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), Bajwa said,“ If India were to go to war now, 90 per cent of its available ammunition would not last even for 10 days. As per another report by committee on defence, there should be 42 Squadrons in Air forces but we have only 32.”
“The similar situation holds true for officer-soldier ratio but instead of addressing genuine issues to strengthen defence of country, the government busy in spending taxpayers money to benefit blue-eyed,” he said and termed Rafale as biggest scam of country since 1947.
“The Rafale is a huge scam involving more than Rs 1,50,000 crore. The money being misused belongs to the people and not the BJP,” added Bajwa.
He said the Congress led government was going to purchase per aircraft at around Rs 526 crore while the BJP government is planning to buy it for Rs 1,670 crore.
“Our party only wants to know the reasons behind the increase of price for these aircrafts. But the government is not ready to answer," said Bajwa.
He said deceiving the country was the government's mantra for the biggest defence deal. The Centre is now indulging in a brazen cover-up exercise, which causing huge loss to public exchequer at the cost of public sector undertaking.
