Asiya Andrabi Tapes Expose Pak's Double Game In Kashmir
Was in touch with then Pakistan PM Sharif, ex-ISI chief, J&K separatist Asiya Andrabi tells NIA
NEW DELHI: Kashmiri separatist Asiya Andrabi was in regular touch with the former PM of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif and often spoke to his foreign policy adviser Sartaz Aziz, the leader of the Dukhtaran-e-Millat told National Investigation Agency (NIA).
Andrabi is also said to have spoken of her contacts with Pakistan high commission officials in Delhi, former ISI chief Hamid Gul, besides UN designated global terrorists Hafiz Saeed and Syed Salahuddin to discuss “freeing” Kashmir from India.
TOI exclusively accessed the interrogation report of the chief of DeM, who is facing NIA probe for helping terrorists, their alleged funding, provocative speeches and related anti-India activities.
She disclosed that she sent a letter to Nawaz Sharif in 2014 stating “Pakistan is not doing anything for Kashmir”. Sharif replied to her saying, “We are doing our best”.
Later, on November 28, 2015 when her mother died, Nawaz Sharif sent her a condolence letter through post.
During her meetings at the Pakistan High Commission with Sartaz Aziz, then Pak high commissioner to India Abdul Basit and deputy high commissioner Syed Haidar Shah in Delhi in 2014, she told them that “Pakistan was taking Kashmir issue casually”.
She was informed by Pakistani officials that there is a Kashmir Committee in Pakistan looking after the issue.
During her regular conversations with Hafiz Saeed, Andrabi told him to “pressure Pakistan government”. She spoke to Lashkar-e-Taiba chief at the time of his wife, Umi Talha’s death and also after the death of his nephew Abdul Rehman Makki.
She said Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin too regularly called her. “She asked him to convince Pakistan government to talk to the UN on Kashmir issue,” reads her interrogation report.
“Salahuddin once called me to pass on a message to Syed Ali Shah Geelani that his son-in-law Altaf Ahmad Shah and Hurriyat spokesperson Ayaz Akbar are getting closer to him. But he denied this (charge of Salahuddin),” she told NIA. Salahuddin’s wife Noor Jahan also separately interacted with her.
