NEW DELHI: Seven ultras were killed on Sunday in an ongoing encounter between terrorists and and security forces in south Kashmir's Shopian district, reported news agency ANI.

Two encounters are simultaneously underway in Shopian, one in Dragad, and the other in Kachdoora village.

Jammu and Kashmir DGP SP Vaid confirmed in a tweet that the bodies of seven terrorists, including top commanders, have been recovered from Dragad village.

Earlier in the day, one terrorist was gunned down and another was arrested alive in an encounter which took place in Dialgam area of Anantnag.
